All of our staff at Kids Care Academy exceed early childhood education requirements through training on various topics and by attending on-going college courses to address each child’s needs. In addition, they are all trained in Pediatric CPR/First Aid and Universal Precautions.
Below you’ll find photos, and a short bio about each member of our management team. Rest assured, your child is in good hands at Kids Care Academy.
Ellen Q., Director
Hi! My name is Ellen. I’m currently the director of our Jeffersonville location. I have been with Kids Care Academy since the summer of 2012 and have loved every minute of it! I graduated from Ivy Tech with an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood and also hold a Bachelor’s degree from IUS.
I hope to continue my education and obtain a Master’s Degree in Education. I have several years of experience working with children in various settings, including my church nursery and one-on-one care with children with learning disabilities. Working with children has been my lifelong dream, and I love the chance to make a difference in each child’s life here at Kids Care Academy!
Emily T., Assistant Director
I’m Emily, the Assistant Director at the Jeffersonville location. I have been with Kids Care Academy since the beginning of 2014 when I was hired as a Lead Teacher in a two-year-old class. I soon fell in love with Kids Care Academy and decided to work towards a management position so I could help new teachers and staff offer the best possible care and education to our children.
I have eleven years of experience teaching young children. My background includes directing children’s ministries at a local church and previously working at another licensed center. I’m currently pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and then plan to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree. My husband Aaron and I have been married for seven years and do not yet have children of our own. We both enjoy volunteering at our church, spending time with family, and hiking at Clifty Falls. I also enjoy scrapbooking and treasure hunting at thrift stores.
Most weekends we can be found browsing local farmers’ markets, hiking, or spending time with our adorable niece, Penny. I’m so thankful that Kids Care Academy has allowed me the opportunities to grow and follow my dreams!
Jessica H., Supervisor
Hi, my name is Jessica. I’m a supervisor at the Jeffersonville location. I’ve been with Kids Care Academy since 2012. I started as the preschool teacher and then worked my way up to supervisor. I currently have a Child Development Associate and have over eleven years of childcare experience. I love working with children because of their eagerness to learn and their desire to explore new things. I believe children are rewarding in many ways, but also challenging at times. It is the impact and influence of children that motivates me to continue doing what I love! I am so thankful that Kids Care Academy allows me to follow my passions!
Kelsey C., Supervisor
My name is Kelsey and I’m excited that you’re checking out our Kids Care Academy page! I’m currently a Supervisor at the Jeffersonville location. My specialty is in infant care! I love babies and interacting with each one on a daily basis. Working at Kids Care Academy has furthered my passion for children, so I changed major from Criminal Justice to Early Childhood Education and I love it!
The classes I’ve taken have allowed me to bring back what I’ve learned in the classroom and apply it to the infant rooms here at Kids Care Academy. I plan on graduating with my Associate degree in the next year and then continue pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree at IUS. I look forward to watching my babies grow in my years to come at Kids Care Academy.
New Albany Location
Danielle B., Director
My name is Danielle and I have been employed with Kids Care Academy since May 2014. I graduated from New Washington High School in 2013. After high school, I attended Ivy Tech Community College where I graduated with a Health Care Support Associate Degree and multiple certificates, such as, Medical Coding, Health Care Support, and Medical Office Administration.
Once I graduated from Ivy Tech, I decided to pursue another degree from Jefferson Community and Technical College in downtown Louisville. I am currently enrolled in the Health Information Technology program, where I am a full-time student. After graduation I plan to work as a medical coder and continue to hold my position with KCA. I live on a farm in Marysville, IN with my parents and all of our animals. We own three dogs, three horses and four chickens. My father and I are very active in the International Barrel Racing Association. Our weekends are normally spent at a barrel race. We have traveled to many different states in order to receive the title State Champion and National Reserve Champion. We have won many titles and awards along the way. He and I have trained two of our horses and we are currently in the process of training another horse.
Besides horses, I am a huge Michigan football fan! I am currently a season ticket holder and spend many fall weekends in Ann Arbor cheering on the Wolverines. Through the years, I have gained many relationships with people since working at KCA and I love it! Watching children grow is an incredible thing. There are many children I met when they were infants; now those kids have graduated from the program and are now school aged. As I watch kids leave our program, I can only hope I have made a difference in their lives.
Tobi F., Assistant Director
Hi! My name is Tobi Ferree and I have been at Kids Care Academy for over two years and I am currently Assistant Director at the New Albany location. I have an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education. I plan to attend the University of Louisville in the fall of 2017 to obtain a Bachelor’s in Social Work. I am the head cheerleading coach for Champion Force, a local youth squad in New Albany. I also teach Sunday school at Parkwood Nazarene Church in Clarksville where my dad is currently preaching.
I have a passion for working with children and helping others. I believe I have received these qualities from my two loving parents. They have been married for twenty-five years and have blessed me with five other siblings. I also have three nieces, two nephews, and another one on the way. I have a boyfriend whoI have been with for four years. He is going to school for Elementary Education and currently works at the Jeffersonville Kids Care Academy as an Assistant Teacher. His dream is to be a teacher, as well as a basketball coach. In my spare time, I enjoy fostering dogs for Southern Indiana Animal Rescue. I have been involved with this rescue for approximately seven years now. I have always had a love for animals and I currently have three cats and two dogs at home.
I also enjoy hunting and fishing with my dad, going to the gym with my mom, and hanging out with my boyfriend. My parents, boyfriend, and other family members have made me who I am today. Rachel M., Assistant Director
Hi, I’m Rachel! I have been at Kids Care Academy for over two years, and I’m currently Assistant Director at the New Albany location. I have an Associate’s Degree in General Studies from Ivy Tech and plan to further my education by obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Indiana University Southeast. I am originally from the small town of New Washington where I was a cheerleader for seven years.
I have worked with children of all ages through voluntary coaching of the cheerleading programs in New Washington and my experience in being a toddler teacher at KCA. I am also an assistant coach for a local recreational cheerleading program. The program helps children of all ages grow in their self-esteem and confidence, which is my passion. I believe a strong sense of self-worth is essential for children. I try my best to encourage the children I work with to work together and be team players.
In my spare time I enjoy boating and spending time with my family and boyfriend of over three years. I also enjoy spending time with my six-year-old nieces who are twins. I have one brother and a ten-year-old chocolate Labrador retriever named Sadie. My parents have been married for almost thirty years and they have raised me to be a strong and independent woman. I plan to continue putting those qualities to good use for many years to come at KCA.
